Bêta-caryophyllène (β-caryophyllène), également connu sous le nom de caryophyllène ou BCP, ce terpène se trouve dans les huiles aromatiques comme l’huile de romarin et de clou de girofle et se trouve le plus souvent naturellement dans le houblon, les clous de girofle, le poivre noir, l’origan, la cannelle et le basilic. Il est responsable du léger piquant associé à l’odeur de poivre moulu.
